Maharashtra Oranje FC thrash Sellebrity FC 11-0 to secure Playoff berth in style

Maharashtra Oranje FC delivered a commanding performance in their final group-stage fixture of the Mumbai Premier League, securing a stunning 11-0 victory over Sellebrity FC to confirm their spot in the playoff group.
Oranje’s league journey began on a rough note with consecutive losses to Mumbay FC and Hope United FC. However, the team bounced back with crucial victories to remain in contention. A draw against IOT midway through campaign meant the final group-stage game faced a must-win situation in their final fixture.
Goals Galore at Neville D’Souza Ground
Oranje started with intent, taking the lead in the 13th minute through Sahil Bhokare’s strike from the left. Jordan Koli doubled the lead seven minutes later, heading in a corner. An own goal by Sellebrity right before halftime gave Oranje a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break.
The second half turned into a one-sided affair. Khatib opened the scoring spree early, with Hersh Rall making it 5-0 around the hour mark. Substitute Yogesh Kadam struck twice in quick succession, pushing the score to 7-0.
A missed penalty by Khatib momentarily slowed the momentum, with Sellebrity Goalkeeper Yadhu Krishnan pulling off a good save. Khatib however redeemed himself with three more goals in the rest of the game, completing a well deserved hat-trick. Meanwhile, Yogesh Kadam also added one to his name late in the game to secure his own hat-trick.
Dominance Reflected on the Table
With the victory, Maharashtra Oranje FC moved to second place in the league standings, finishing the group stage with 16 points from eight games. Their incredible comeback after a slow start has made them strong contenders heading into the playoffs.
Final Score: Maharashtra Oranje FC 11-0 Sellebrity FC
