MDFA 2nd Division: Veera United, Juhu Strikers pick close wins

Ten men Charotar Rukhi Samaj lose out to Veera United 1-2. In other game Juhu strikers pick their first win of second division.

In their first game of the 2nd division season, Veer United faced Charottar Rukhi Samaj who had opened with a 2-1 win in their first game. The game seemed to be heading in to a similar direction for Charottar RS when Suraj Makwana found the net in the 29th minute to take the lead. However a second yellow in the game from Manish Solanki meant a marching order from referee as the Charottar were down to ten men. After Inas Peirera equalised at the hour mark, Pranav Karle found the net five minutes later as Veer United capitalising on weakened opponent to take lead. Soon the final whistle was as the seventy minutes were up with the game ending at 2-1 for Veera United.

In another game of the day, Rudra FA (A) faced Juhu Strikers for a group G fixture. Coming from a disastrous opening game 1-5 loss Juhu strikers put up some determined performance to beat Rudra FA who were playing their first game of the campaign. After a going over an hour without a goal, Avijit Barik struck the net in the 63rd minute to put Juhu strikers in front. The game ended at 1-0 score line with Juhu Strikers leaping four places to fourth spot in the group G table
