MDFA 1st Division: Kian stars with brace in Kenkre U17’s 2-2 draw with Catholic Gym

Kian Guard’s brace helps Kenkre FC U-17 share spoils with Catholic Gym while in other game RSF (B) hammer 4 past ten man Mumbai warriors U19
In the first 1st division fixture of the day, Kenkre FC U-17 ‘s road for group C top 2 finish hit a major road block as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Catholic Gymkhana. Trailing group leaders Tarun sporting by ten points with four games in hand, Kenkre started off poorly as they went down 0-1 in the 13th minute courtesy of Dozwin D’costa’s strike. However, Kian Guard’s goal in the very next minute brought the game back to level terms.
But it was Catholic Gym once again to take the lead when minutes before half-time Kaushik Kinjawdekar doubled the lead. Mid-way through the second half, Kian once again rescued Kenkre with another equaliser to make 2-2. Both sides looked for a winner later in the game but the game trudged to a 2-2 draw as Kenkre are now left to scale three wins in remaining three games for a top 2 finish.
Group C: Kenkre FC U17 (Kian Guard 14’, 57’) 2 – 2 Catholic Gymkhana (Dozwin D’costa 13’, Kaushik Kinjawdekar 39’)
In other game, RSF (B) smashed four goals past a hapless 10 man Mumbai Warriors U19 side. With battle for top 2 spot still open both sides came into the game looking for win. Vicky Karkode 7th minute strike gave RSF (B) an important lead but it was the early sending off of Sawrin Chudasami that changed the course of the game. Battling with ten men, Mumbai Warriors U-19 found it hard to break RSF defence. Around the half hour mark, Alfred Menezes doubled the goal to make matters worse for Mumbai Warriors. In search of goals, warriors began putting men forward but in the process exposing their defence. This was exploited well in the injury time when Danish and Wilfred struck quick goals to finish off the game
Game D: Mumbai Warriors U-19 0 – 4 R.S.F. (B) (Vicky Karkode 7’, Alfred Menezes 32’, Danish Qureshi 80+1’, Wilfred Menezes 80+2’)
