MDFA 1st Division: Veniza Virar thrash Mumbai United to win 4-1

After conceding an early goal Veniza Virar came back strong to thrash Mumbai United 4-1 while in other game late flurry of goals earns Vintage Dahisar first win of the season
In the opening game of the day Jupiter Sports club faced off against Spartans Sports Academy for a group b fixture. The game started disastrously for Spartans as they conceded an early goal in the unexpected fashion through an own goal from lovepreet Saini. Six minutes later Sanket Ahire doubled the lead as Jupiter SC looked in complete control of the game at break. However second half turned completely upside down, Jupiter SC were reduced to ten men after Prathamesh Rokade was given the marching order this helped Spartans to comeback to the game as they took advantage of the extra man scoring two goals through Varun Sastry and Aniket Patil to take a point from the game.
In other fixture, two teams placed at the bottom of Group A table faced each other with bottom placed Vintage Dahisar securing their first win of the season. A late flurry of goals from Vintage meant Rizvi Ceramics failed to secure the fourth spot in the group table instead ending the campaign at penultimate position. After a goal less first half, goal fest ensued in the second starting from Vaibhav Nair’s 35th minute goal that gave Vintage Dahisar FC the lead however two quick goals from Akshay Chavan and Deelam Gonsalves in the space of 4 minutes sent Rizvi back in lead. However in the last ten minutes Vintage Dahisar smashed three goals to take home their first win the campaign. Nehal Shetty and Vaibhav Nair both contributed with brace in Vintage’s win.
In the final game of the day, Veniza virar outclassed Mumbai United to top group E table with 18 points. An early goal from Abhishek Vyas looked to dent VVFC top spot hopes however they came back in style with a complete professional performances scoring 4 goals and ending the game at 4-1. After Nidhin Joseph’s immediate equaliser, Manu Rana struck a brace before Nilesh Chavan finished the game with another goal.

Group A: Vintage Dahisar FC 4 (Vaibhav Nair 35’ 58’, Nehal Shetty 51’, 57’) – 2 Rizvi Ceramics (Akshay Chavan 40’, Deelan Gonsalves 44’)
Group E: Veniza Virar FC 4 (Nidhin Joseph 8’, Manu Rana 31’, 49’, Nitesh Chavan 79’) – 1 Mumbai United (Abhishek Vyas 7’)
