Benjamin Zolar stars for Tarun Sporting Club with 5 goals

In a battle for 2nd division group F top spot, JMJ Sports Club thrashed ICL U-19 while in 1st division, Tarun SC hammer Soccer A to Z courtesy of Benjamin Zolar’s five goals
2nd Division:
An interesting final fixture turned out to be a rather lopsided affair as JMJ Sports Club trounced ICL U19 6-1 to take the top honours of 2nd division Group F. Both sides came in to the final game with just two points between them. While JMJ SC needed just a point to end the group stage at pole position, ICL U-19 need a win to claim the top spot. However things started on a disastrous note from the very first minute for ICL U-19, when Daniel Fernandes slid one past the keeper to put JMJ in to lead.
Eight minutes later Pratik kadam doubled the lead to put ICL U19 in trouble. In the 35th minute Brent Fernandes pulled one back for ICL to reignite hopes of comeback however a minute later, Reuben Fernandes stuck the third for JMJ to douse any spark of comeback before completing his hat-trick with two more goal. The game ended at 6-1 score line with Killinger Raunak adding one more to the JMJ’s tally.

1st Division:
A five goal burst from Benjamin Zolar assisted Tarun SC in the 9-0 routing of Soccer A to Z with Olivar Aitolya, Abdul Dohadwala and Somnath Naskar chipping in with on each. Placed at the extreme ends of their group C table, playing their final group game Tarun SC needed a win to finish strong in the group table. The game began with an quick fire hat-trick from Benjamin Zolar as three goals in the space of eight minutes made it 3-0 for Tarun SC, In the second half, Olivar Aitolya slotted one home to make it 4-0. Couple of minutes later, things turned worse for Tarun SC as an own goal from Joylin Rodrigues made it 5-0. In the final stretch of the game, Soccer A to Z defence were in sixes and sevens as goals came in plenty for Tarun Sporting.
Group C: Tarun Sporting Club 9 (Benjamin Zolar 20’, 23’, 28’, 68’, 80’, Olivar Aitolya 54’, Abdul Dohadwala 66’, Somnath Naskar 67’, Joylin Rodrigues 56’{Own Goal} ) – 0 Soccer A to Z
Meanwhile in group E, Ratnam SA came from goal down to secure a late win against Sterling Das FA keeping the top two race open. Essa Momin struck a 19th minute goal to put his team in lead however Johnson M put things on level terms in the 40th minute before scoring a late winner to finish the game in favour of Ratnam SA.
