Mumbai Muslim edge past GMSC, Sporting SRS and Shelar FC record wins
Mumbai Muslim edge past GMSC in the Super Division, Sporting SRS and Shelar FC record wins in the 3rd Division matches of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) held on 26th April 2017.
Super Division –
GMSC 0-1 Mumbai Muslim
This game was a slow burner in the initial stages as both the teams were trying to find their rhythm and trying to keep hold of the ball. The chances then started to flow as GMSC almost scored but the ball just missed the target. Mumbai Muslim then took their chance as Jiten Koli scored on the 36th minute mark as they went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
In the 2nd half, GMSC came out firing all cylinders but lacked the final touch as Mumbai Muslim players put in some brilliant last ditch tackles to deny the GMSC attackers the goal scoring opportunity. The game ended 1-0 to GMSC as Mumbai Muslim’s stellar defence helped them preserve the lead.
3rd Division –
Sporting SRS 3-0 LIC SC
Sporting SRS totally dominated this game as they put on some stellar football on display. SRS took the lead through Vinayak Newale and then doubled it through Abhish Dhage. Vinayak then finished off the game when he scored his second as Sporting SRS won 3-0.
Shelar FC 1-0 Madanpura
Shelar FC took control of the game in the initial stages itself as Ankesh Mishra scored for them in the 17th minute. Madanpura put some pressure on Shelar FC in the later stages but couldn’t level things up as they lacked creativity in the final third.
