HDFC Bank humiliate Central Railway (MD) and Mumbai Strikers outclass Springfield FC

Mumbai: HDFC Bank humiliate Central Railway (MD) and Mumbai Strikers outclass Springfield FC in the Super Division matches of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) held at Andheri on 25th April 2017.

HFDC Bank 8-1 Central Railway (MD)

HDFC started dominating the game from the kick-off as they had all the possession. Morgan Ganda then gave HDFC a deserved lead in the 15th minute and soon they doubled their lead in the 34th minute but Central Railway got one back just before the half-time as Tanuj Rathod scored.

In the 2nd half, HDFC turned up the heat as Melroy scored his second in the 55th minute. Rishi Pillai then got on the act as he scored in the 57th and 74th-minute mark making it 5-1. Substitute Sukesh then got on the act as he scored two minutes later while Dujan scored the 7th on the 79th-minute mark. Fabian Fernandes put the icing on the cake in the 90th minute making it 8-1.

Springfield FC 0-3 Mumbai Strikers

Springfield had all the initial chances as their attackers went past the opposition defenders with ease but just couldn’t apply the final touch needed for the all-important goal. Mumbai Strikers then settled down in the game and failed to convert a glorious chance just before the half time as Sourabh Solanki’s strike whistled past the post.

In the 2nd half, both the teams began on a cautious note with as they lacked the attacking intent. But Mumbai Strikers finally took the lead as Kunder kept his nerves and made it 1-0 and then the floodgates opened as Akshay Devadiga scored two minutes later to make it 2-0 to Mumbai Strikers. As Springfield were recovering from the shock of conceding two goals they conceded a third as Arslan Hamdulay scored in the 86th minute.
