Mumbai Super League Playoff: MH Oranje FC U23 beat Om Saidham 4-2

In a thrilling six-goal encounter, MH Oranje FC U23 emerged victorious with a 4-2 win over OM SaiDham FC in a Mumbai Super League Playoff encounter
The game held immense significance for MH Oranje FC U23 as they aimed to secure a crucial win to boost their position in the league standings, while OM SaiDham FC entered the match with nothing to lose, eager to showcase their talent on the field.
Right from the outset, MH Oranje FC U23 asserted their dominance, controlling possession and dictating the flow of the game. The action kicked off in the 15th minute when Egan Fernandes crafted a chance for himself with a determined run from the right flank, only to see his powerful shot ricochet off the crossbar, leaving the OM SaiDham FC defense relieved. Undeterred, MH Oranje FC U23 continued to press forward, and in the 33rd minute, they broke the deadlock. Aditya More delivered a pinpoint cross from the right-wing, finding Fernandes, who rose above the defense to head the ball into the net, giving MH Oranje FC U23 a deserved lead.
As the first half progressed, both teams exchanged attacking opportunities, but it was MH Oranje FC U23 who came closest to extending their lead. However, despite their best efforts, they were unable to find the back of the net again before halftime, with OM SaiDham FC’s goalkeeper producing a fine save to deny Shlok Jayan.
In the second half, MH Oranje FC U23 picked up where they left off, and their persistence paid off in the 61st minute. Rahul Nair’s precise long ball found Fernandes on the left wing, who cleverly set up Surendra for a clinical finish, doubling MH Oranje FC U23’s lead. Fernandes then turned scorer in the 64th minute, as he received an accurate pass from Dhrumil inside the six-yard box and managed to slot home his second goal of the match in a clumsy yet effective manner, further extending MH Oranje FC U23’s lead to 3-0.
Despite facing a three-goal deficit, OM SaiDham FC refused to give up and pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute through Alymer Gonsalves, injecting a glimmer of hope into their side. However, any hopes of a comeback were dashed in the 90th minute when MH Oranje FC U23’s substitute Prince capitalized on a long ball from Surendra, lobbing the ball over the goalkeeper to seal the victory for his team.
Although OM SaiDham FC managed to score another goal through Saish in stoppage time, it proved to be merely a consolation as MH Oranje FC U23 emerged victorious with a final scoreline of 4-2. As the final whistle blew, MH Oranje FC U23 celebrated a hard-fought victory, inching closer to securing a third-place finish in the league standings.
