Second Half goals help IOT register a 2-1 win over Somaiya FC

In an important encounter between India on Track and Somaiya FC, both the teams looked forward to secure a win and gain points, as India On Track looked forward to stay on the top in the table and Somaiya FC stepped in with the hope to secure their first win in Playoff.

Ultimately, IOT emerged victorious, with second-half goals from Shubham Dalvi and Leisemba sealing a well-deserved win. Somaiya’s skipper Vaibhav Shetti contributed a beautiful goal, displaying commendable effort for the team.

Somaiya FC initiated the game with a determined offensive strategy, launching relentless attacks. The duo of skipper Vaibhav & Arjun orchestrated a promising play, displaying ambition to impact the scorecard. However, IOT’s solid defense showcased unwavering determination, thwarting their attempts. Undeterred, Somaiya FC continued their offensive pursuits, with Vaibhav and Arjun combining effectively to create a scoring opportunity. In a swift sequence, skipper Vaibhav intercepted the ball and delivered it to teammate Arjun, who navigated through defenders but faced a resilient Anish Chetty, IOT’s goalkeeper, who swiftly collected the ball, denying the efforts of Arjun Singh.

India On Track came back with an attack of their own after being defensive, as Leisemba created a good play and provided a pass to Amrendra Singh, who was quick to provide a long ball to Shubham Dalvi, who executed a header, but the ball missed the mark going over the crossbar.

Somaiya FC retaliated with a free-kick opportunity, where their Experienced Midfielder Aakash excellent attempt found Vaibhav shetti executing an incredible header, securing a lead in the concluding moments of the first half.

India On Track returned on the ground with an intent to dominate the second half of the match, as they were a free-kick, where Shubham Dalvi’s precise shot found Nishant who managed to attempt a header only for the shot to narrowly miss the nets. India On Track’s aggressive intents found their results when Shubham Dalvi took a perfect shot, as he found the ball at the edge of the box and scored the equalizing goal for his team, giving them the hopes to push for a win.

IoT continued to pose a threat for Somaiya as Pranav’s brilliant ball found Leisambai on right wing, the latter was quick to take a shot but missed the mark by an inch. India On Track found the next scoring opportunity when, Nishant provided a long ball from left wing, Leisemba from inside the box executed a breathtaking header, which found the nets successfully, providing India On Track the lead they were looking for.

India On Track picked up their third win in playoff to keep their dominance on the league table, as they defeated Somiaya FC 2-1 with a strong 2nd half comeback.

Somaiya launched a few attacks of their own which were thwarted by India On track as the defensive duo of Rohan D’Souza and captain Bilal Modak cleared each and every attempt successfully, not allowing the strikers of Somaiya FC to create any play.

Last minutes of second half saw another attack by India On Track, when they were awarded a free-kick which was skillfully taken by Rohan D’Souza, whose shot found Saurabh Nikam who took a cross shot, in order to provide a pass to Veron, but the Somaiya FC keeper intervened in time and collected the ball holding back India On Track. This action ended the second half where India On Track documented their comeback and won the game 2-1.

With conclusion of this match India On Track gained another 3 points, taking their tally to 10 points and leading the table, While Somaiya FC stands on just a single point scored in 5 games.

Mumbai City FC made short work of OSSM

In other playoff fixture of MFA Super League, Mumbai City colts registered an emphatic 8-0 win over OSSM. Mangthenlal Haokip registered a second half hattrick while Mohammed Jaffer scored a brace as the Islanders produced a clinical performance to take home all 3 points from the game. Subhajit Belel, Mohammed Kaif and Omkar Talkar scored one each to complete the 8-0 rout.
