10th August, Kalyani Stadium, Kolkata: A performance displaying intent. Real Kashmir hit hard on the former Durand title holders, Army Green Football team as they thumped the side by a 4-0 scoreline. The recently formed team from the valley are an example to the struggling teams and the low-budget outfits. With a peanut budget, the team has won the hearts of millions of Indian fans!

The first strike was made at the 3rd minute. Chesterpoul Lyngdoh of Real Kashmir guided the ball back into the net. Ever since the opener, it has been a day to cherish for the Meghalayan. When the clock ticked the 39th mark, Lyngdoh went on to complete his brace. It was quite visible, Real Kashmir fielded their team in the Durand Cup to run riot against any opposition. Meanwhile, till the time the crowd rejoiced Chesterpoul’s prowess, Singam Subash Singh had already scored the second goal at the 33rd minute. By the time the teams were headed towards the dressing room for the interval, the scoreline read 3-0.

Things got a clumsy when the Army Reds lost their temper and Sajesh Mutah and Laishramnanishsingh were penalised with a red card at the 52nd and the 55th minute respectively. They tried to put a fight with the remaining nine, but at the fag end of the match, Real Kashmir fired the fourth bullet. Khaidem Vicky Meitei scored the 4th and the final goal for the ‘Snow Leopards’. However, the Kalyani Stadium saw an astonishing moment, when Vibin TV of Army Reds got a red card after the final whistle. Team Real Kashmir emerged victorious in both of their encounters at the Durand Cup. This time, with a 4-0 scoreline!

Real Kashmir will face off against FC Goa on 17th August and Army Green will lock horns against Chennai City on the following day, 18th August at the Kalyani Stadium.
