Bhaichung Bhutia’s Residential Academy set to conduct trials in Mumbai

16th March, 2022: Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) will conduct Residential Academy trials in Maharashtra for the academic year 2022-23.  In the next few months, the trials will be organized in multiple cities across India.  The first phase will take place in Mumbai on 20th March at the Wings Sports Center, Bandra (West). 

Interested student-athletes must report at 10:00 IST with proper football kits, Date of Birth (DOB) proof like Aadhar Card, and carry their food and water for the Mumbai leg. Speaking about the upcoming season, Nikhil Khunteta, BBFS Technical Head, West India, said, “We are excited to kick start the trials for the Maharashtra leg. Through these trials, we will scout student-athletes who have the potential to build a career in professional football and excel in academics.  At BBFS, we strive to provide optimal opportunities for our footballers to get the best of both worlds.”

As part of India’s largest football training program, BBFS Residential Academies operate in   Maharashtra, Delhi NCR, Karnataka, and Kerala. The Residential Academies is an ideal platform for aspiring student-athletes to excel in academics while preparing for top-tier football. Each student-athlete is supported with a customized curriculum that best suits their academic and sporting needs. 

Alongside mentorship from experts, student-athletes play at least 30 competitive matches and participate in regional, national and international competitions in a season. 

After a particular stage, BBFS provides professional playing opportunities at Garhwal Heroes Football Club (GHFC), a BBFS partner club, and presents scouting opportunities to deserving footballers through their extensive scouting network across India and abroad. Student-athletes who fail to make it as professional footballers are counseled and groomed for career opportunities within the booming sports industry and other traditional fields.
