Supremo Chasak Football 2018 Day 3 Results and Updates

Another day of tie-breakers ruling the results as the group stage of Supremo Chasak 2018 comes to an end. Thane, Borivali, Kalina and Navi Mumbai qualify from the 2 groups

With semi-final up for grabs, it was a must win game for Thane Vijaydurga, who had to win at least on tie-breakers to gain the bonus point, securing the 2nd spot. Neither side managed to break the deadlock in the normal time, leading the game to tie-breakers. Keepers Siddharth Lavate and Vikram Singh pulled out some amazing to keep their sides in the game as it took 8 attempts to decide the winner with Siddharth Lavate’s 3rd save in the shootout helping his side Thane Vijaydurga picking the all important bonus point.

In the 2nd game, Navi Mumbai Panhalgad face Parel Sinhagad and for the third time running the former took the game on penalties earning the bonus points on all of them. With just a draw enough for securing the top 2 finish in the group, the game ended at 0-0 score line to give both sides a point apiece. In the shootout, Ismail Surve once again came out on top with two crucial saves helping Navi Mumbai earn their third bonus point.

In the final group A league game, Mumbai Central Pratapgad faced Colaba Sindhudurga in an inconsequential match with the qualifications out of reach. With nothing but pride to play for, both sides played out for a win however the game ended goal less as the match headed for tie-breaker. Mumbai Central Keeper Prathamesh Babban pulled out a terrific save in the 5th attempt to win the game for his side.

In the final fixture of the day, with qualifications up for grabs for both sides, it was Borivali Vishalgad that came on top with a 2-0 result over Bandra Shivneri. Manish Koli produced two clinical goals inside the box within the first 20 minutes to send his side to the next round. The opening goal came in the 9th minute when a long ball was perfectly latched on by Borivali no. 3 Karan Amin who then made a run on the right flank before a well placed cut back which was calmly finished off by Manish to send his side on lead. Six minutes later, another attack on the left ended with a similar outcome as the game looked done and dusted with Borivali taking the two goal lead.
