Supremo Chasak Football 2018 Day 1 Results and Updates

Thane, Kalina zones picked up close wins while Navi Mumbai edged Borivali on Tie-breakers, meanwhile Bandra picked a comfortable 2-0 win in the final game of the day 1 of Supremo Chasak 2018.

The opening game of the Supremo Chasak Football tournament lived up to the expectation as a closely fought game ended with Kalina Raigad picking up an important win. After an even opening few minutes, a controversial decision gifted Kalina Raigad an early penalty after Kalina no. 10 was fouled at the edge of the box although the replay suggested the foul happened just outside the box. Adnan Ishqe made no mistake in converting the spot kick as he sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 1-0 for Kalina Raigad.

In the second half, another defensive lapse from Mumbai Central Pratapgad allowed Kalina to take a 2 goal lead. A long ball into the box was poorly judged by Mumbai Pratapgad no. 3 as the ball fell for Kalina forward Kamran Siddiqui, who made no mistake in calmly dispatching the ball past an onrushing keeper. Deep into the injury time, substitute Sajid Ansari’s stunning 30 yard strike reduced the margin for Mumbai Central Pratapgad to 2-1 but it wasn’t enough for a comeback as soon the referee blew the full time whistle to end the game at 2-1 score line.

In the 2nd game of the day, Navi Mumbai Panhalgad sneaked to a win on tie-breakers against Borivali Vishalgad after normal time ended at 1-1 score line. It was Borivali side that took the early lead when a long ball into the box bounce awkwardly in front of Chanpreet, who failed to clear it allowing the man lurking just behind him – Shravan Shetty, to calmly dispatch it past the keeper.

However, minute after break Navi Mumbai got back in to the game through Himanshu Patil’s brilliant solo goal beating two defenders before smashing a strong right footer. The game ended at 1-1 entering into tie-breaker; where Navi Mumbai Keeper Pradeep pulled off a brilliant save to help his side win the game.

In the 3rd game of the day, Thane Vijaydurga faced Colaba Sindhudurga with the former edging to a 1-0 win as Farukh Choudhary’s first half stunner turned out to be the difference between the two sides. Turning his man inside out, Farukh ripped open a powerful right footer to top left corner of the post to give his side the lead.

Goals from Johnson Dsilva and Azfar Noorani secured a comfortable 2-0 win for Bandra Shivneri against Parel Sinhagad. After a goal less first half, second half started with a bang as Bandra Shivneri were gifted with an early penalty after their no. 14 was brought down inside the box by Parel Sinhagad no. 14. Johnson Dsilva stepped up for the spot-kick converting it sending the keeper wrong way. Five of minutes later, Bandra doubled the lead courtesy of some neat game play of passing that ended with Azfar Noorani’s deft finish to make it 2-0.
