Strikers fight back to hold RBI 1-1

Mumbai, May 2: Mumbai Strikers scored a late gold to hold Reserve Bank of India to a 1-1 draw in a hard-fought Super Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association League 2016-2017, and played at Andheri sports complex.

Reserve Bank took the lead through Hriday Sethe’s strike in the 40th minute to go into the break with a 1-0 lead. Mumbai Striker fought strongly and managed to score through Arsalan Hamdulay’s penalty conversion in the 87th minute to snatch the equalizer.

Meanwhile, JMJ (Jesus Mary Joseph) SC blanked Mother Theresa Foundation 4-0, while Rudra FA got the better of St. Paul’s ‘B’ 1-0.

Results – Super Div: Mumbai Strikers 1 (Arsalan Hamdulay 87th) drew with Reserve Bank of India 1 (Hriday Sethe).

Div-III: JMJ SC 4 (Daniel Fernandes 2, Roosevelt Fernandes, Subodh K.) beat Mother Theresa Foundation 0.

Rudra FA 1 (Jason Billing) beat St. Paul’s ‘B’ 0.
