11 Mumbai boys in Maharashtra team

I-League

Mumbai, August 17: A total of 11 players from Mumbai District form the nucleus of the Maharashtra team that will be participating in the qualifying rounds of the AIFF Sub-Junior National Football Championship 2017-18. The matches will be held at Duler ground, Mapuca, Goa from 20th to 25th August 2017.

The Maharashtra team is drawn to face hosts Goa, Daman & Diu and Lakshadweep.

The team was selected after grueling weeks of trials and training at The Cooperage ground. The team boasts of many exciting talents who have the potential to take the tournament by storm.

The Team: Nathan Murzello, Rony Chowdhry, Joel Barnes, Arya Kumar, Shane Aranha, Shubham Chafe, Nihal Dudwadkar, Sunil Maurya, Anirudh Ruke, Athar Ansari Ahmed, Zeeyan Nevrekar (all Mumbai); Anish Gaware, Neerav Pillai, Abhishek Pardeshi (all Pune); Pratham Pendam, Ayush Yadav, Anurag Solankee (all Nagpur); Rishabh Singh (Thane); Mohamad Shahbaz (Hingoli); Shreyas Bosekar (Solapur).

The Head Coach of the team is AFC ‘C’ License holder, Siddheshwar Shinde, who is being accompanied by Manager Prashant Jadhav (AIFF ‘D’ License Certificate Holder), Asst. Coach Samrat Rana (AFC ‘C’ License Certificate Holder) and Physio Neeraj Churi.

The top team will qualify from each group for the Final Round.
