East Bengal 2-2 Mumbai FC – All Goals

Mumbai FC snatched away a crucial away point against East Bengal when they faced The Red & Golds at Barasat Stadium, Kolkata in HERO I-league.

Mumbai FC took the lead on the 15th minute through Steven Dias brilliant free-kick before Ranti Martins leveled the score ten minutes later. In the second half, East Bengal’s Bernard Mendy turned the tie when he found the back of the net with a splendid strike but with 13 minutes to go Mumbai’s defender Ashutosh Mehta brilliantly headed in from Jayesh Rane’s cross to level the score at 2-2

Here are the goals:

1st goal – Steven Dias (Mumbai FC) – The former Indian International rolled back the years when he used to bend one in through free kicks which earned him the name Indian ‘David Beckham’. The right midfielder beautifully curled his free kick straight into the back of the goal which left East Bengal’s goalkeeper Luis Barreto absolutely no chance to keep it out.

2nd goal – Ranti Martins (East Bengal) – The prolific Nigerian striker found the top left corner with a powerful right footed shot from Sanju Pradhan’s cross to level the score.

3rd goal – Bernard Mendy (East Bengal) – The new signing from Chennaiyin FC made Barasat Stadium erupt in joy when he gave The Red & Golds a vital lead through a thunderous shot from the edge of the box which nestle into the top right corner.

4th goal – Ashutosh Mehta (Mumbai FC) – Just when East Bengal thought they have done their job, Mumbai FC’s fan favorite Ashutosh Mehta leveled the score with a perfect header from a pin point cross from Jayesh Rane on the 77th minute.
