MDFA 3rd Division Round up – 5th & 6th April

On 5th April, 2016 Mumbai FC Colts played Mithanagar and FC Mumbaikars ‘B’ faced off Universal S. Academy in the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) 3rd Division at St. Xaviers Ground, Parel. Whereas on 6th April, 2016 Boxers FC took on Shrisainath in hope to bounce back after their 2-0 defeat against Colaba SC.

Mumbai FC Colts 0-0 Mithanagar

Both the sides couldn’t convert their chances into goal and had to settle for a dull draw. Mumbai FC Colts did came close to score twice but Elton Dawson and Omkar Wani showed immense composure at the back for Mithanagar to keep Mumbai FC Colt’s forwards at bay. On the other end, Clivert Miller and Shreyas Sail proved vital for the Colts but didn’t had enough support to prevail against a spirited Mithanagar side.

FC Mumbaikars ‘B’ 2-0 Universal S. Academy

Second-half goals from Cantreet and Harsh Tawade proved decisive for FC Mumbaikars ‘B’ as they overcame Universal S. Academy 2-0 in their 3rd Division match.

Apart from their attack FC Mumbaikars ‘B’ also had a organized defense for the whole match as Universal S. Academy’s forwards struggled to get past their gritty backline.

Shrisainath 0-1 Boxers FC

Boxers FC responded well after their 2-0 defeat against Colaba SC few days ago as a brilliant free kick from Fradi helped them edge Shrisainath by 1-0. The goal came on the 22nd minute, Fradi brilliantly smashed the free kick very low and hard which went all the way into the back of the net.

After the win the Boxers FC players applauded Shrisainath for their impressive performance. The sportsmanship by Boxers FC was respectful, at least for the young side of Shrisainath players.
