Ryan International School lifts MSSA U-14 Boys title

On 23rd October, 2015 Ryan International School (Malad) triumphs over Udaychal School (Vikhroli) on penalties to win the title of U14-Boys Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA).

Both the side were level going into the penalties as it was down to a perfect showdown at Azad Maidan.

Udaychal School dominated the match but they couldn’t turn their chances into goals when it mattered the most. Ryan International’s gritty defense kept Udaychal’s attackers off the bay as they kept anticipating their play for throughout the match.

Ryan International could have taken the lead late in the first half Parth Singh’s right footed shot from inside the box just went over the bar. On the other end, Ryan International’s goalkeeper Ruben Mashi made two incredible saves to deny Udaychal School’s Anuj Shelar and Aryan Kelekar.

Late into the second half, Ruben Mashi’s error almost cost Ryan International the match when the Referee awarded Udaychal School an indirect free-kick from inside the box. Ryan International’s defense again proved too good for Udaychal School as brilliant defending from the boys in blue send the match into the penalties.

Udaychal School’s Jayesh Shabani’s penalty was saved by Ruben Mashi which gave Ryan International an early advantage. Ryan International’s Captain Aayush Mane place his effort into the left corner to give them the lead.

Om Waghmare and Captain Yash Panchal both missed their initial spot kick which gave Ryan International a golden chance to get their hands on the glittering trophy.

Ryan International’s Atharva Ashtekar’s penalty earlier gave them a 2-0 lead. Stepped up Moksh Goel for Ryan International who comfortably place his effort into the bottom corner to give the boys in blue a sensational victory.

Ryan International Captain Aayush Mane was later handed with the trophy alongside his coach and teammates.
