Air India humiliates G.M.S.C

On 19th October, 2015 Defending Champions of Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) Elite division Air India humiliated G.M.S.C 9-1 at Cooperage Stadium, Churchgate.

Hattrick from Rugved Yeole and Neil Gaikwad tormented G.M.S.C defence for the whole ninety minutes to complete a thrashing over G.M.S.C.

Air India didn’t showed any mercy for the whole match as they dominated G.M.S.C right from the Referee’s whistle. It took Air India only five minutes to open the scoring when Neil Gaikwad poked his effort into the goal from Mervin Stephen, giving them an early lead.

Just two minutes later, Air India’s Reed Santos made it 2-0 as he volleyed home from just inside the box from a precise ball by Raynier Fernandes. Air India’s players were all over the place and unsurprisingly proved too strong for G.M.S.C.

Neil Gaikwad scored his second on 31st minute to give Air India a 5-0 lead which seemed beyond G.M.S.C’s reach.

Neil’s crime in partner Rugved Yeole also had his second as his looping header caught G.M.S.C’s goalkeeper in no man’s land. It was Air India’s sixth goal of the match that too inside 36 minutes.

Just when G.M.S.C thought they would not concede another before the break, Rugved Yeole scored his third and getting his first hattrick of the season as Air India had their seventh of the game.
