Catallions F.C. comeback stuns MTNL S.C

In a fluctuating aura of Football with heavy hiccups on the ground of Karnataka Sports Association, Catallians barged MTNL to grab a delightful win in the third division phase of MDFA(Mumbai District Football Association).

Within ten minutes of the beginning of the match Catallians displayed assertive style of football, with a looping pass from Nilesh Mohete pushing it to eccentric striker Praneet Patel as he missed the first chance to create lead in the match. Both the teams were bracing chances as MTNL’s striker created a deft pass which turned to be a waste.

Though MTNL earned numerous chances to mark lead in the game but against the firm defence of Cattalians they were unable to convert any of the awarded corners or Free kicks. MTNL were achievable in shaping chances to score in the first half of the game, an eclectic forward Ramesh made the anxious moments rising high as he controlled the ball with balance and dodged his opponents with dicey cuts and quick reflexes but that too couldn’t help him to push the ball in the keeperless net.

Several chances were missed by the MTNL attackers as they were firmly tackled by the defence of Catallians FC. The midfielders of Catallians were effective and obliging in display of passing which kept the spirit alive in them until a simple free kick by the Goalkeeper of Catallians FC was brilliantly grabbed by the skill full forward Ramesh who after missing two vital opportunities hmade no mistake this time in dodging the midfielders and defenders of Catallians to chip over the top of the goal keeper to give MTNL a lead in the match.

Another chance came MTNL’s way from a free kick which was missed when the shot barged against the pillar before deflecting to outside just before 2 minutes of first half.

The second half was a big turnaround when Catallians FC started game with high spirit and enthusiasm and started building pressure through their enormous counter attacks. The chemistry between midfielders and strikers was proof of their mature skills .They created several attempts which did not let the temperature go down in the game.

Within five minutes of start of the second section of the match, a curvy pass from left in position by Tanish Jhangvi was smoothly converted by the prominent forward of Catallians, Praneet Patel whose skill full game helped Catallians to level up the score.

The goal created unanimous pressure on MTNL players and provoked them to earn lead over Catallians once again. In another moment, furious striker of MTNL created multiple moves by dragging the ball towards his left and right wings. The strong defence were able to clear the ball every time MTNL’s player dodged the ball towards the goal, though striker Bhupesh Paraskar and Riaz Thange were dazzling with the ball to convert it into another lead but unclear shots and low temperament towards the end of the game impacted in another fiery shot by Rahul Powar of Catallians FC to crossing the goal line above the nets in last fifteen minutes of the match.

Shubham Kakodkar was quite effective as the midfielder managed to control the ball at the back as well as in forward ,his moves helped his fellow strikers to create chances and to gain lead in nail biting last minutes left in the game. .In a match of chaos and flurried moments, Catallions FC were able to clinch the victory against MTNL by 2-1.
