The National Group Stage of RFDL 2024-25 to begin on March 23, National Championship is set to kick off on April 10

Mumbai, March 19: The National Group Stage of the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) 2024-25 will begin on March 23, as two groups comprising six teams each will lock horns at the Reliance Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai. The top two sides from each of the two groups will qualify for the National Championship that begins on April 10, 2025.

Three teams qualified each from the four zonal groups. East Bengal FC, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, and Diamond Harbour FC qualified for the National Group Stage from the Kolkata Zone. NorthEast United FC, Classic FA, and Jamshedpur FC made it ahead from the Meghalaya Zone. The Kerala Zone saw Muthoot FA, Kickstart FC, and Sreenidi Deccan FC move to the next stage. FC Goa, Dempo SC, and Mumbai City FC secured the qualification from the Goa Zone.

NorthEast United FC first-team assistant coach and reserve team head coach Naushad Moosa heaped praise on his side as the Highlanders have shown exceptional form at the youth level in the current edition of the RFDL. He highlighted the positive perspective with which his team has approached each game, which Moosa understands as a core reason behind their current standing in the competition.

“The team has played outstanding football, seven wins and being at the top of the points table speaks volumes about their talent, work ethic and hunger to succeed. Their commitment to the team’s philosophy and desire to take responsibility on the pitch has been impressive,” Moosa said.

“The RFDL is a stage where great players make their mark, and the opportunity is there for the taking. Play with heart, stay disciplined, and trust the work you have put in, but enjoy the game, as these experiences will shape your future,” he added in his message to the players going into the National Group Stage.

The 12 sides that will feature in the National Group Stage are slotted in the two groups as follows -:

Group A: East Bengal FC, NorthEast United FC, FC Goa, Kickstart FC, Jamshedpur FC, Diamond Harbour FC

Group B: Muthoot FA, Dempo SC, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, Classic FA, Sreenidi Deccan FC, Mumbai City FC

Jamshedpur FC and East Bengal FC lock horns in the opening game of the National Group Stage at 8:00 AM on Sunday, 23rd March 2025 at the Reliance Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai.
