Renaissance & IIT Bombay (B) wins while Om Sai Dham Seva and O’sheish draws

24th January 2018, Mumbai: Over the last two days, four MDFA Third Division play-offs matches took place at the St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. With the teams fighting for promotion to the Second Division, things are spicing up in the fraternity of Mumbai Football.
Renaissance showed resilience while IIT Bombay (B) also snatched up a win, whereas, Om Sai Dham Seva and O’sheish had to settle for draws.
Group A: Renaissance (Lordson Soares) 2-1 Youth Soccer Academy
In the Group A match of play-offs, Renaissance picked up their first win after breezing past Youth Soccer Academy (Bandra) 2-1. They are currently at the top of Group A with four points in two games while Youth Soccer Academy is second with three points.
Lordson Soares bagged a fantastic brace which turned out to be the difference between both the sides at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel.
Group B: IIT Bombay (B) (Divine Pullokaran 13′) 1-0 Tarun Mitra Mandal
In Group B game, a lone goal by Divine Pullokaran proved decisive as IIT Bombay (B) picked up their second win in as many games. Their counterpart Tarun Mitra Mandal is third with one point in two games.
Group C: Om Sai Dham Seva (Tejas Borkar 23′) 1-1 KSA U-17 (Shubham Shukla 45′)
In Group C, KSA U-17 and Om Sai Dham Seva are fighting to dethrone United Villagers who is sitting at the top of Group C. Both the sides played out a 1-1 draw in an eventful match.
Tejas Borkar’s 23rd-minute goal was cancelled out by KSA’s Shubham Shukla’s 45th-minute strike. This was KSA’s second draw in as many games.
Group D: O’sheish FC (Faizan Shaikh 5′) 1-1 Judean United (Prakash Singh 23′)
O’sheish FC is yet to win in playoffs as they were held by Judean United SC 1-1 at Parel. Faizan Shaikh’s goal in the 5th minute was later levelled by Prakash Singh’s beautiful goal in the 23rd minute. O’sheish is second with two points while Judean United is lying at the bottom of Group D with one point.
