RoundGlass Punjab aiming to bounce back against Bengaluru FC

Kozhikode, April 11: RoundGlass Punjab FC (RGPFC) will look to bounce back from their loss in the previous game when they face Indian Super League runners up Bengaluru FC (BFC) tomorrow in their second game of Group A in the Hero AIFF Super Cup which will be played here at the EMS Corporation Stadium. The match is scheduled to kick off at 8: 30 PM.

RGPFC lost their previous match against Kerala Blasters 3-1 and it was a learning experience for the I League side against the side from ISL as they will be playing in the top league of the country on virtue of being the champions of I League this season. Their opponents, Bengaluru FC were held on to a 1-1 draw by another I League side Sreenidi Deccan.

“Our defensive function has to be on top to reduce the speed and quality of the key players of Bengaluru and we will deploy our offensive plan when we get the chance to attack against a strong opponent”, said RGPFC Head Coach Staikos Vergetis about the game. Both teams will be looking to secure their first win of the tournament. “We believe that the team doesn’t have to improve as such but we will have to avoid making individual errors that were made against Kerala Blasters which cost us the game”, the Coach said on how the team has improved after the first match.

Both coaches will look to field their strongest lineups as they will look to open their win account in the tournament.
