Nishant and Himanshu strike as AUA FC secure crucial win against FC Goa reserves

Ambernath United Atlanta FC bounced back to winning ways as they secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over FC Goa’s Development Team at the Cooperage Stadium in Mumbai.

After a string of three winless games, AUA FC were determined to get back on track and dominated the game from the start. However, it was a tough task to break down the resilient FC Goa defence in the early stages of the game.

In the second half, AUA FC finally found a way through as Nishant rose the highest inside the box to head a corner kick into the back of the net. Despite Goa’s attempts to get back into the game, AUA FC’s solid defence stood firm.

In the dying moments of the game, Himanshu Patil took advantage of a defensive mistake inside the box to slot home the second goal of the game and seal the win for AUA FC.

However, the match ended on a sour note as there was an altercation between AUA FC keeper Rahul Murali and FC Goa striker Salgeo Dias. Both players received yellow cards from the referee, with Dias receiving his second yellow card of the game and subsequently a red card, meaning he will miss the next game.

Overall, it was a well-deserved win for AUA FC as they showed great determination and teamwork to secure all three points. The win sees them go on par with Dempo SC in the league table with eight points from 5 games and with three matches to go and just three points behind league leaders, the win provides a much-needed boost to their confidence going forward
