MDFA: Atlanta post mammoth 7-0 win over Vidyavikasini

MDFA: Tarun Sporting top 1st Division group C table, Alfresco start off with a win in 3rd division Play-off

Atlanta FC dethrone Skorost FC from the top spot in group F with a huge 7-0 win against Vidyavikasini, in other game, IDBI and Dias United played out a goalless draw.

In a group D fixture, two sides that are around the bottom parts of the group table played out a goalless draw after neither side managed to break the shackles. The draw enabled IDBI to jump a place above PIFA Colaba U17, while (BBC) Dias United remained rooted at penultimate spot.

In the other 1st division game of the day, Atlanta FC hammered seven goals past a hapless Vidyavikasini defence as the former jumped to the top spot in the group F table. Juventus Dmello’s brace alongside Royston and Agnelo George goals meant Atlanta FC raced to 4-0 lead around the half hour mark. Orlando Pinto’s own goal in the first half injury time meant Vidyavikasini entered the break conceding five goals. Aaruni Jha and Riane Disouza struck one each to pound more misery to their opponents already miserable defence as the game ended at 7-0.

2nd division:

KNFC – Naseeb continued their unbeaten run with another win as they defeated FC Mithagar side 2-0 to register their fifth victory in six games. Sharique Khan’s second minute strike gave KNFC an early lead, which was followed by some end to end football but neither side managed to find the net for most part of the game. In the dying moments of the game, Mithagar put men forward in search of an equaliser however they ended conceding the second as Shoaib Shah doubled the lead to finish off the game.

In other 2nd division fixture, Castle Boys moved to top position in Group G after a comfortable 2-0 win over Bombay YMCA. Wayne Trindade’s 4th minute strike was doubled by Brendon D’mello 2nd half strike as Castle boys extended their unbeaten streak to six games.
