MDFA: ICL U19 topple Mother Teresa from top spot

In an entertaining round of fixtures, Both Juhu Beach united and Desperados pick their first win of 1st division campaign while ICL U19 acquire group F top spot in 2nd division

1st Division:

Siddharth Kripalani’s 22nd minute strike gave Juhu Beach United, their first win of 1st division campaign after starting with two losses earlier in the season. Despite the loss, Chheda Nagar Fanatic remained rooted at their fifth spot with four points in four games while Juhu Beach United lifted themselves from the bottom spot to secure 6th position in group F table.

In another fixture, Desperados SC ran out 4-1 winners against Carmelites SC to register their first win after starting the opening game with a 1-1 draw. Sagar Gawade struck twice within twenty minutes to put Desperados in to a comfortable lead in the first half. Second half began with Ivan Reddy slottin the third before Kishan Dubey added the fourth five minutes later. Deep in the injury time, Prashant Gurav slotted home a consolidating goal for Carmelites as the game ended at 4-1.

Game 2: Desperados SC 4 (Sagar Gawde 10’, 20’, Ivan Reddy 50’, Kishan Duney 56’) – 1 Carmelites SC (Prashant Gurav 80+3’)

2nd Division:                               

Marouli United FC produced an inspired performance to register a come from behind win against Companeroes SC (B). Suresh Suthar struck in the 19th minute of the goal to send companeroes in to lead. However Clinton Kinny, Elton D’souza and Troy Nunes stuck one each for Marouli United to finish off the game. Neither side had any change in group table with Companeros on fifth spot followed by Marouli just behind despite the 3-1 win for the latter.

Game 3: Marouli United FC (Clinton kinny 28’, Elton D’souza 45’, Troy Nunes 70’) 3 – 1 Companeroes SC (B) (Suresh Suthar 19’)

In an enthralling group F fixture, table toppers faced off each others, Mother Teresa Foundation who led the group coming in to the game with four consecutive wins faced ICL U19 team who trailed them by just two points. In an exciting game, goals from Rakesh Dhanu and Brent Fernandes gave ICL U19 a 2-1 win with Nigel Parlekar being the lone scorer for Mother TF. The win propelled ICL U19 to the top spot of group F table leading their opponent by a point.
