Body Line S.C on the brink of glory after victory over Companeroes S.C

Body Line S.C put a step in the direction of the MDFA Women’s League title by beating Companeroes S.C 2-1 in a Women’s League match held at Karnataka Sports Association Ground on 2nd April 2015.

Juhi Shah of Body Line SC and Madonna Fernandes of Companeroes the respective Free kick experts for their team shouldered responsibility of the whole game. Madonna and Juhi tried their best but were unlucky in the first half.

Zarasytn Mistry of Body Line tried her bit in the 13th minute when she ran towards the goal post trying to control the ball with Companeroes defenders behind her; she kicked in haste and Anisha Chavan the Companeroes Goalkeeper saved it easily.

In the 24th minute Zarasytn had another chance at the goal but Companeroes defenders marked her well and she lacked support as Companeroes defenders cleared it away.

Body line scored the first goal as Ameeta Venkat scored 3 minutes after the start of second half, after she kicked the ball into the top left corner of the post and caught Anisha the Companeroes goalkeeper by surprise.

In the 3oth minute, Body Line player Kimberly Miranda fouled Rebecca Rodrigues just outside the penalty box. Madonna took the free kick which went over the head of Durva Vahia the Body Line goalkeeper as she even jumped to punch the ball away but could not prevent it from going into the goal and the equalizer was scored.

A 44th minute mistake by Anisha cost Companeroes the whole match when Anisha came out of her penalty area. She held the ball in her hand and crossed the box and handball was given. Juhi Shah took the free kick and converted it into a Goal!

With 6 minutes to spare from the final whistle, Companeroes players could do nothing and the match ended with celebrations from Body Line after their 2-1 win over Companeroes.
