Aniket Sorte and Rumit Anand’s goals for Jupiter helped comeback against Sea View to win 2-1

St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel, Mumbai: On Saturday, 29th October, 2016, Sea View featured against Jupiter in Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) Division 1 group ‘G’ match.

Going into the second-half, Jupiter S.C’s no.17 Harshit Somaiya gave his side a one-goal platform to build upon three minutes from half-time. But a resolute effort from Sea View brought two goals past the 70th minute mark; first, Aniket Sorte leveled the scoring on 72 minutes, Rumit Anand’s strike 3 minutes later helped Sea View get their noses in front. Jupiter came from a goal down, and turned the match on its head defeating Sea View S.C by 2-1.

After a goalless 35 minutes, where neither side troubled the opposition goal, Sea View managed to score the opening goal as a result of a neat interplay around Jupiter’s 18-yard-box. Harshit Somaiya’s goal proved to be of great moral boost for Sea View as the side took a 1-0 lead into the second-half.

Meanwhile, Jupiter naturally started the second-half on the offensive, giving a few scares to the Sea View goal early-on. Despite several opportunities to get back into the match, Jupiter’s lack of efficiency in front of the goal nearly cost them 3 points.

As the game matured, it was certain of Jupiter to come-back into the match. And in a remarkable spell of 5 minutes, Jupiter came-back from a goal down to lead 2-1 at the full-time whistle. Under pressure, Aniket Sorte kept his nerve to find the net on 72 minutes to level the tie with a fine shot beating Sea View’s goalkeeper. Another no.17, this time, Jupiter’s Rumit Anand smashed home the winning goal 5 minutes from normal time.
