Sudeva Edge MYJ in Tight Contest to Climb Off the Bottom
Sudeva Delhi FC secured a narrow 1-0 victory over MYJ in their I-League 2 clash at the Sudeva Residential Academy Ground, in a contest between two sides looking to climb up the table.
Sudeva began on the front foot and looked the more threatening side in the opening stages, pushing forward in search of an early breakthrough. However, MYJ’s defence held firm, dealing well with the pressure and limiting clear-cut chances.
At the other end, MYJ showed promise through Kwan Lewis and Shravan Shetty, who were lively on the flanks and delivered dangerous balls into the box, though the Sudeva goalkeeper remained alert to deal with the threat. Despite the intent from both sides, the first half lacked clear opportunities, with the teams going into the break level at 0-0.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Sudeva continuing to press and MYJ relying on solid defending and key interventions from goalkeeper Paramjeet Singh to stay in the game.
The decisive moment came in the 73rd minute when Ejaj Ahamad capitalised on a defensive lapse to tap home from close range, giving the hosts a crucial lead.
MYJ looked to respond, with substitute Miit Adekar injecting energy into the attack and winning important fouls in advanced areas. However, Sudeva maintained their defensive shape and kept MYJ at bay in the closing stages.
The result sees Sudeva draw level on points with MYJ while moving ahead on goal difference, as MYJ suffer their third defeat of the campaign and look to regroup in the matches ahead.
