Reliance FYC Hold In-Form IOT to Thrilling Draw
India On Track faced Reliance Foundation Young Champs in an exciting Mumbai Premier League clash, with IOT aiming to register their third consecutive win after bouncing back strongly from their defeat to Kalina Rangers. Reliance, on the other hand, stepped in determined to disrupt IOT’s momentum.
IOT controlled large phases of the game with confident ball possession and patient build-up play. However, Reliance looked sharp whenever they won the ball back, breaking forward with pace and purpose to trouble the IOT defence.
The first half saw both teams testing each other without finding the finishing touch. Despite a few promising moves at either end, neither side managed to break the deadlock, and the teams went into the break level.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 55th minute when Rutig stepped up for IOT and found the back of the net to give his side the advantage. With the lead in hand, IOT looked composed and organised at the back, trying to protect their narrow edge.
Reliance refused to back down and continued to push forward in search of an equaliser. Their persistence paid off in the 84th minute when Pritom unleashed a stunning long-range strike that left the goalkeeper with no chance, bringing the scores level and swinging the momentum late in the game.
The match ended 1-1, with Reliance Foundation Young Champs earning a valuable point and denying India On Track a third straight victory.
