Mumbai City FC Dominate Sellebrity FC to Register First Win of the Season
The clash between Mumbai City FC and Sellebrity FC in the Mumbai Premier League was an important one for both sides, with Mumbai City eager to secure their first win of the season while Sellebrity FC were also hunting for their first points.
Mumbai City FC began the match with intent, moving the ball well and applying steady pressure on the Sellebrity defence. However, it was Sellebrity who struck first as Kaushik calmly converted a penalty in the 27th minute to give his side a surprise lead.
The response from Mumbai City was immediate. Just a minute later, in the 28th minute, Aadil found the equaliser with a composed finish, bringing his side right back into the contest and ensuring the teams went into halftime level at 1-1.
The second half saw Mumbai City FC raise their intensity. Agastya gave them the lead in the 47th minute with a sharp finish that shifted the momentum firmly in their favour. From there, Mumbai City looked more confident in possession and sharper in attack.
In the 59th minute, Pereira extended the advantage with a well-taken goal, giving Mumbai City breathing space and putting Sellebrity under more pressure. Despite a few attempts to fight back, Sellebrity struggled to break down the Mumbai City defence.
As the match approached its end, Eshan added the final touch in the 89th minute, sealing a convincing 4-1 victory and wrapping up a strong performance for Mumbai City FC.
This result marks Mumbai City FC’s first win of the season and a much-needed boost to their campaign. On the other hand, Sellebrity FC continue their search for a first victory and will look to regroup ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
