PIFA Storm to First Win of the Season with Six-Goal Masterclass

by Chandler D'silva February 12, 2026

Pifa face Kenkre in the Mumbai Premier League where both teams have yet to win a match this season and will take this as a perfect opportunity to get their season off the mark but it will be a delight to see which teams secures their first win out of the two.

Pifa looked quite dominant in the first half having dominated ball possession while Kenkre looking pounce on the counter and catch the Pifa defence off guard. Soham leading the Kenkre attack pressed the Pifa players with good intensity and was followed well by the rest but keeping in mind that Kenkre didn’t have a good bench and wouldn’t be able to make substitutions so the starting 11 had to conserve their energy for the entire game.

In the 35th minute, Atharva got the breakthrough for Pifa with a simple finish past the keeper after the cross in to the box and put them ahead at the end of half time.

The second half started with the same look as the first with Pifa looking to extend their lead and they did just that after a defensive mess up led to giving the ball away to Abhishek Pandey who got a clean hit of the ball in to the left bottom corner to make it 2-0 for Pifa just 2 minutes into the second half.

Kenkre needed to get a goal back as soon as possible before the game gets away from their hands. Just 3 minutes after the second goal, Atharva went on to strike another one but this time it was a long range banger in to the top corner giving the keeper no chance to even dive for it. This made it 3-0 for Pifa and a brace for Atharva and this goal took the game away from Kenkre.

The goals didn’t stop coming even after 3-0 as Kenkre felt short of confidence every time they tried attacking and Pifa didn’t take long to counter their weakness and this time Shubham got his goal as well in the 62nd minute, another stunning shot from outside the box which hit the post and went in to make it 4-0 and an assist from the Pifa skipper Palash as well.

Abhishek Pandey was not done yet as just 3 minutes later, after a beautiful through ball to him he converted it calmly with his outer foot to complete his brace and make it 5-0 and nearing their first win of the season. Kenkre players looked very vulnerable at the back and helpless in their attack as they didn’t get even a single shot on target in the whole game.

But on the other hand, to complete the hat trick for Abhishek, he powered one in to the net past the keeper to secure his first hat trick of the season and what a player he has been this match where he was all over the Kenkre defence but they couldn’t get the upper hand on him which made them pay.

The game ended at 6-0 for Pifa making it their first win of the season and what a way to get it with a dominating performance while Kenkre will still be in the lookout for their first win but above that will be looking to score their first goal of the season which is a surprising factor for a team like Kenkre.
