Krish Karpan Strike Fires Mumbay FC Past Iron Born
Mumbay FC returned to winning ways after a disappointing result in their previous outing.
The new faces in the Mumbay FC lineup made an immediate impact in this fixture, marking their presence and asserting their confidence within the squad.
Young right-back Krish Karpan proved to be the difference-maker, scoring the decisive goal in the 14th minute. Krish attempted to deliver a cross into the box, but the Iron Born stopper intercepted the ball inside the six-yard area. However, he misjudged the situation — after taking the ball down while facing away from goal, he was quickly pressed by Krish Karpan, who reacted sharply, won possession back, and slotted the ball into the net.
Iron Born have fielded a very young side this season under the experienced guidance of Flyod Pinto. Despite coming up against more seasoned teams, Iron Born have managed to thwart attacks effectively and have conceded very few goals, especially considering the inexperience of their squad.
That resilience was on display once again in this match. Even after conceding a soft goal early on, Iron Born held firm at the back and pushed hard for an equaliser, but their efforts ultimately fell short.
For Mumbay FC, however, this result carried significant importance. Securing all three points after a disappointing loss against MSP will provide a much-needed boost. With this win, Mumbay FC now sit third in Group B.
Stay tuned for continued coverage of the MPL.
