Dražić Delivers Again as FC Goa Continue Winning Run

by Chandler D'silva February 27, 2026

FC Goa secured a narrow but important 1-0 victory over Sporting Club Delhi in Match 15 of the Indian Super League 2025-26 at the PJN Stadium, Fatorda. The win marked the Gaurs’ second consecutive triumph and provisionally lifted them to the top of the standings with seven points from three matches.

Head coach Manolo Márquez made a single change to his starting XI, bringing in Ishan Pandita up front, while SC Delhi reshuffled their side with three alterations, including Nora Fernandes starting in goal.

The contest began with both teams enjoying phases of possession, but clear chances were limited. Sandesh Jhingan came closest early on for Goa with a header that drifted just wide. At the other end, Matija Babović forced a sharp save from Hrithik Tiwari, and Abdul Hudu also tested the Goa custodian from distance.

The breakthrough arrived just before half-time. Akash Sangwan delivered a teasing cross from the left flank, and Dejan Dražić timed his run perfectly at the far post before finishing clinically past the goalkeeper. It was his third goal of the season and enough to give the hosts a slender lead heading into the interval.

FC Goa had a golden opportunity to double their advantage around the hour mark when they were awarded a penalty for a handball inside the box. Dražić stepped up but sent his effort over the bar, missing his third penalty attempt of the campaign.

Despite the miss, the Gaurs continued to push forward. Ayush Chhetri saw a promising effort cleared off the line, while Rafael Ribeiro went close from a set-piece for the visitors. As the game entered its final stages, Goa controlled possession intelligently and limited SC Delhi’s attacking opportunities.

Tomasz Tchórz made changes in search of an equaliser, but Sporting Club Delhi struggled to carve out any clear openings. FC Goa remained composed at the back and held on to secure another hard-fought three points, with Dražić’s decisive strike proving the difference once again.
