Fathima School FC

The Don Bosco Past Oratory Boys host the Br. Frank Braganca Memorial Cup U-17 at the Don Bosco Institute of Technology ground, Kurla, bringing together several top U-17 teams for a competitive and meaningful tournament. The event celebrates young footballing talent while honouring the enduring legacy of Br. Frank Braganca, whose influence continues to shape the local football culture.

The tournament features strong performances from all participating teams, making it an exciting and closely contested competition throughout. The presence of esteemed guests Fr. Anthony Pinto, Fr. Nelson Carvalho, Fr. Anthony Charles, and Fr. Mylin Noronha adds to the significance of the occasion and inspires the young players on display.

In the final, Fatima School FC produce a composed and confident performance to defeat ACE Academy 2–0, securing the championship title. ACE Academy put up a spirited fight but are unable to break through Fatima School’s disciplined defence, finishing as deserving runners-up.

Individual excellence stands out across the tournament. Pratyush Vishwakarma finishes as the Highest Goal Scorer, Vedant Gajamal is named Player of the Final, Sajeer Idrisi earns the Best Defender of the Tournament award, and Neev Chhipaa is honoured as the Player of the Tournament for his consistent impact.

Beyond results and awards, the tournament carries deep meaning for the Oratory community. It is organised to pay tribute to Br. Frank Braganca, a role model who plays a defining role in the lives of countless Oratory boys. His commitment to discipline, values, and sport helps shape pathways for many, with several going on to represent at national levels and secure government jobs through sports quotas, including roles in Central Railways, Maharashtra Police, government banks, Customs, and Income Tax.

Former India international Steven Dias is among those who benefit from Br. Frank’s guidance during his formative years. Dias often credits the Oratory environment for instilling discipline and belief, foundations that support his journey as a player and now as Head Coach of ISL side Jamshedpur FC.

Br. Frank’s vision helps establish a football culture in Kurla that continues to thrive. The Oratory becomes a hub where local children discover the game, learn life skills, and pursue opportunities through sport. That culture remains alive today, reflected in tournaments like this and the steady stream of young players it continues to inspire.

The Br. Frank Braganca Memorial Cup U-17 stands as a celebration of football, community, and remembrance—honouring a legacy that still shapes futures on and off the pitch.
