Young Guns India’s Akshay & Hemang shines in a thrilling victory over Bombay YMCA
Young Guns India, riding on the momentum from their dramatic comeback in the previous match, continued their fine form against Bombay YMCA.
The match kicked off with intensity, and it didn’t take long for Young Guns to find the back of the net.
In the 18th minute, Akshay Kumar opened the scoring. After pressing hard to dispossess his marker just outside the box, Akshay dribbled past a defender before calmly slotting the ball into the net. His goal provided the early lead for Young Guns, and while both sides had chances in the first half, no further goals were seen.
The second half, however, turned into a more thrilling affair. Just three minutes into the second half, Kartik Aghase left his teammates and the bench in awe with an incredible goal. After intercepting a loose ball from a Bombay YMCA defender, Kartik took a deft touch and unleashed a powerful long-range strike. The shot flew into the net, stunning everyone and extending his team’s lead to two goals.
Bombay YMCA, however, were not ready to back down. In the 56th minute, they found a lifeline through a set piece. A well-placed corner was met by Hasan Rauf, who powered a header into the net, narrowing the gap to 2-1.
As tension mounted, Young Guns remained composed and sought to kill the game off. Their efforts were rewarded in the closing stages, as the hero of their previous match, Skipper Hemang Jadhav, stepped up once again. A clever short corner routine saw Dhruv pass the ball to Shakib, who whipped in a dangerous cross. Hemang was perfectly positioned in the box to bag goal, securing the 3-1 win and all three points for Young Guns India.
