Symbians FC’s Skipper Kartik Bele secures dramatic late equalizer against Waves FC

Two new entrants to the Super League, Symbians FC and Waves FC, clashed in a tightly contested match, with both sides eager to make their mark.

Waves FC dominated much of the game, but Symbians’ skipper Kartik Bele came to the rescue, heading in a stoppage-time equalizer to salvage a point for his team.

Waves FC made their intent clear from the start and took an early lead in the 15th minute. A long ball forward caused confusion to Symbians’ defender, with their stopper misjudging the flight. Mohit Koli, the Waves’ winger, pounced on the opportunity, poking the ball into the empty net from outside the box as the onrushing goalkeeper Yash failed to reach it in time.

Despite Waves’ early dominance, Symbians had their chances. Kartik Bele delivered a pinpoint free-kick into the box in the first half, finding Gaurav Narkar, whose header looked destined for goal but was dramatically cleared off the line by a Waves defender. Kartik himself came close later, as he received a cross in the box, but his shot was blocked by a wall of defenders.

Waves continued to press but failed to finish their chances, while Symbians were resolute in their defending, keeping the score at 1-0 going into halftime.

The second half saw Symbians increase their intensity, pushing hard for an equalizer. Although Waves FC created several clear-cut opportunities, including two 1v1s with the keeper, but were left frustrated as the Symbians’ goalkeeper Yash made crucial saves. To add to Waves’ woes, two of their attempts struck the post, leaving them unlucky not to extend their lead.

Sensing an opportunity to turn the game around, Symbians’ coach made a decisive substitution, bringing on experienced midfielder Joel late in the second half. Joel’s impact was immediate, orchestrating attacks and dictating play. His quality paid off in stoppage time when he sent a long ball down the right flank to Amol, who delivered a pinpoint cross into the box. Running in with perfect timing, Kartik Bele met the cross with a powerful header, leveling the game at 1-1 in the 90+2 minute.
