MYJ-GMSC dominates with a 4-2 win over D.K. Flag Foundation in Mumbai Premier League

In a thrilling encounter, MYJ-GMSC secured a commanding 4-2 victory over D.K. Flag Foundation, showcasing their offensive prowess and seizing control of the game with standout performances.

MYJ-GMSC began with a series of missed chances, but persistence paid off in the 24th minute when they finally broke the deadlock. Vidipt’s quick anticipation saw him intercept a misplaced pass from D.K.’s center-back, driving forward along the right flank. Spotting Nayan’s timely run, Vidipt played the ball wide, allowing Nayan to slip behind the defense. With precision, Nayan sent a low cross into the six-yard box, where Kamran awaited. Staying composed, Kamran finished the move with a delicate tap-in, setting the tone for MYJ’s early control.

Momentum was firmly on MYJ-GMSC’s side, and just two minutes later, they doubled their lead through a well-rehearsed set-piece, a signature of their tactical acumen. Pravin curled a dangerous cross from a dead-ball situation, finding Vidipt in the box. His powerful header was expertly saved by D.K.’s goalkeeper, but the rebound fell to Umesh, who pounced on the loose ball and slotted it home, giving MYJ a comfortable two-goal advantage.

However, a lapse in concentration just before halftime allowed D.K. Flag Foundation back into the game. Attempting to recycle possession, Umesh misjudged a pass intended for goalkeeper Sumeet. The under-hit pass invited pressure from D.K.’s young striker, Vaibhav Shetti, who capitalized on the mistake. With a burst of speed, Vaibhav intercepted the ball, skillfully nutmegging Sumeet to bring his side within one goal just before the break.

Entering the second half, MYJ-GMSC quickly resumed their attacking rhythm, creating several clear chances before finding the net again in the 66th minute. This time, Vidipt Dua, showing his class, took center stage. Nayan and Shamer orchestrated a neat exchange on the right flank, with Nayan breaking free for a cross. A deflection off a defender sent the ball just outside the penalty area, where Vidipt was already advancing. Timing his run perfectly, he unleashed a sensational volley, sending the ball soaring past the keeper and extending MYJ’s lead to 3-1.

MYJ-GMSC kept their foot on the gas, and in the 83rd minute, they found the net yet again, with Vidipt sealing his brace. Tejas Raut’s lofted ball reached Himanshu Patil on the edge of the box, who skillfully cushioned it into Vidipt’s path. A deft first touch allowed Vidipt to maneuver around a defender, and with a clear sight on goal, he placed a calm finish past the keeper, pushing the score to 4-1 and putting the game beyond reach.

Despite MYJ’s dominance, D.K. Flag Foundation delivered a final moment of brilliance. In the closing moments, Manav found himself in a one-on-one situation with Sumeet, who made a valiant block. The deflection, however, fell to Mohit at the edge of the box. With a powerful stride, he unleashed a volley straight into the top right corner, a goal of undeniable quality that closed out the 4-2 thriller in memorable fashion.
