FC Bengaluru United’s star foreign player duo Jairo and Kdouh impressed with the talent
Bengaluru, 31st October 2022: FC Bengaluru United have started their BDFA Super Division Campaign in strong style – after playing 10 games, they are currently in the 3rd position in the points table. In their most recent game, the two-time BDFA Super Division Champions played out a hard-fought 2-2 draw against FC Agniputhra. FC Bengaluru United have worked hard to build a cohesive, well-knit unit for the start of the 2022/23 season, hoping to retain the title. Among several key signings, the stand-out recruits have been the two foreign players in Jairo Rodrigues Peixoto Filho and Mohamad Kdouh from Brazil and Lebanon, respectively. The two foreign stars, who are already playing a pivotal role for the club in the league, spoke about the strong ethos of the squad as well as the strength of the team composition. The Brazilian central defender, Jairo Rodrigues said, “We have a good team spirit. We have quality players both young and experienced.” Adding to the same, Lebanese centre-forward Mohamad Kdouh said, “We are working every day to improve tactically and technically and as a team overall. This team is essentially a new team, and the members need time to get used to each other. The chemistry needs time to build between players. We are on the right track. We are aiming to improve every day going forward.” The two foreign stars also spoke about what makes Indian footballers unique and the potential they possess. “In my opinion, we have great talent here,” said Jairo. “You have to work hard because talent alone is not enough. Hard work always trumps everything. And I think this is the great quality of younger Indian players. They are always ready to work and improve.” Echoing the Brazilian’s views, Kdouh said, “There are a lot of talented players here in India. They just need somebody to guide them. Players here are seriously hard-working. They want to work. They want to improve, they just need somebody to help put them on the right track so they can improve faster, which I believe under Coach Khalid [Jamil] is very possible.” Elaborating further on the new FC Bengaluru United Head Coach, Kdouh added: “I’ve worked with many coaches from different nationalities, different football schools and I can say honestly that coach Khalid is one of the best coaches I’ve worked with. He is an extremely hard worker. He takes a lot of care of his players, and he is trying to be as equal as he can as a human.” The 29-year-old Jairo also spoke highly about Khalid, saying, “Playing under Khalid is a pleasure for me. I have learned a lot from him. He certainly has a lot to teach us. I hope to win everything with him because he is a great coach. Coach Khalid has also helped us a lot with all his football experience and our goals this season are very clear. We want to win the local league with FCBU this season.” The foreign duo signed off by talking about the club’s ambitions for the current season as Kdouh said, “We will try to defend the title till the end. We are on the right track.” Jairo, too, reiterated the same. “It’s always more pressure to defend the title because every team comes to play against us with a different motivation, but with a lot of work and dedication we surely will reach our goals.” About Nimida Sports Nimida Sports is the sports arm of the Nimida Group.
