Pranit Kadam brilliance leads Companeroes SC (A) to 2-0 win
Companeroes ride on Pranit Kadam brilliance to beat FSI – Sea View 2-0 in the MDFA Elite Division (Private) encounter played at Neville Dsouza ground, Bandra on Thursday.
After an even start at either end, it was Companeroes who grabbed the early initiative with a goal in the 17th minute. Striker Pranit Kadam broke the deadlock when his strike from the centre of the box beat the keeper to find the back of the net.
With the lead on their side, Companeroes were comfortable to slow down the game playing out from the back by holding on to the possession. Meanwhile FSI-Sea View looked to work on the counter-attacks. However, Companeroes backline dealt with the counters very well as FSI found it difficult to trouble the defence.
At the other end, Companeroes patience with ball were well rewarded when some good work from Pranit saw him dribble past defender and round up an onrushing goal keeper before cutting the ball back for an unmarked Aniket Gilatar who made no mistake in front of an open goal to double the lead just before the half time whistle.
Post break, the game continued in similar fashion with Companeroes quite comfortable with two goal lead. FSI-Sea View had couple of chances to reduce to deficit but the final touches eluded them as the game ended 2-0 in favour of Companeores
