World Corporate Champions Cup: National finals of India leg to be played in Mumbai

The National Finals of the World Corporate Champions Cup - India Qualifiers 2019, will be played on 24th & 25th August 2019 at Gallant Arena, Mumbai.

The National Finals of the World Corporate Champions Cup – India Qualifiers 2019, will be played on 24th & 25th August 2019 at Gallant Arena, Mumbai.

Corporate teams from Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata and New Delhi will fight out to win the Ultimate prize “Road to Monaco, France”. Team winning the National finals will represent India at World Corporate Champions Cup alongside Corporates from 15 other countries at the grandest stage of all.

Tournament Journey so far:

First edition of World Corporate Champions Cup (WC3) India qualifiers 2019 the Biggest National Qualifiers in FIFCO (International Federation of Corporate Football) history covered 5 cities across India, travelled approx. 3000kms, interacted with 470+ Corporate teams and reached out to approx. 4 million employees via all promotional mediums. Teams from Goa, Chennai, Bhubaneswar & Kochi also showed keen interest in playing the tournament.

City Qualifiers:

Pune (27th & 28th April 2019, Turf Up)

Some of the best teams from Pune participated in the competition. Teams Amdocs, HDFC, Persistent Systems and Capgemini were the 4 semi-finalists of Pune leg. In the Finals Amdocs beat Persistent systems in closely contested finals.

Bengaluru (4th & 5th May 2019 at Astro Arena)

Bengaluru leg saw some of the best football played through out. Teams Cerner, HDFC and Infosys were the best teams from their respective groups and qualified for the super 3’s. Cerner Beat HDFC 2-0 in the Finals.

Mumbai (1st & 2nd June 2019, Gallant Arena)

This was by far the most competitive city legs of all. Team JP Morgan A & B, WNS, TCS, Indigo Airlines, British Airways and Teleperformance made it through the Quarter Finals.  JP Morgan won the Mumbai Leg beating WNS in a nail biting finish.

Kolkata (22nd & 23rd June 2019, Newtown School)

Some classy and brave performance was visible throughout the Kolkata leg. Teams HSBC, Sun Knowledge, Genpact and British Telecom were the 4 Semi Finalists. HSBC beat Sun Knowledge 1-0 in the finals which was easily the match of tournament wherein the winning goal was scored in the dying seconds.

New Delhi Leg (27th & 28th July, Tricky Taka)

New Delhi Leg saw some competitive football played throughout amidst heavy rains. Teams American Express, TCS, QA Infotech and Deloitte made it to the Semi-finals. Finals was played between team American Express and QA Infotech.  Result was decided in penalty shootout as both team finished on 1 goal apiece in full time. American Express won the championship 2-1.
