Northeast United – Bengaluru tie to be played behind closed doors
Hero Indian Super League Match 40 at Guwahati between NorthEast United FC vs Bengaluru FC, scheduled on Wednesday, 18th December will now be played behind closed doors.
The decision has been taken by Football Sports Development Limited after due consultation and guidance from the city authorities. The League holds safety of fans, players and staff of paramount importance, which has led to this decision.
Few days ago, Match 37 between NorthEast United FC and Chennaiyin FC too had to be postponed after the city was placed under curfew following protest against Citizen (Amendment) Bill. Due to the ongoing unrest in the Guwahati, this time around FSDL has decided to allow the game to be played out as scheduled but Stadium will not be open for fans.
Defending Champions Bengaluru FC are currently placed in the third spot with 13 points while host NorthEast United are currently placed just outside the top 4 at 5th position with 10 points in the league table.
