MDFA Nadkarni Cup: Pradeep, Valentine star with hat-tricks as UBI thrash Kenkre FC 8-0
Mumbai-August 31: Pradeep Mannewar, Valentine Pereira show their class as they starred with hat-tricks in UBI’s demolishing 8-0 win over a young Kenkre FC
In a rather one sided encounter, the experience backed UBI thrashed a young Kenkre FC side 8-0 to book quarter-final berth. It took UBI just 14 minutes to open the scoring when striker Pradeep Mannewar struck the opening goal in the 14th minute. Around the half hour mark, Hasan Golwalla doubled the lead before Valentine Pereira made it 3-0 in the space of four minutes.
Kenkre managed to pull themselves back and steady the ship a bit as the game entered break with 3-0 score line. However on restart, the floodgates opened up as UBI came out all guns blazing, smashing 5 goals in the space of 25 minutes
Jay Wadhwa struck the fourth of the day in the 50th minute to make it 4-0. In the next 24 minutes, Pradeep Mannewar & Valentine Pereira smashed two goals each to complete their hat-trick and UBI completed a demolishing 8-0 rout.
We are working very hard to get to the finals, taking one game at a time. Today’s game against Kenkre was more about attacking and converting each attack into goal that was our target today
Scoring hat-trick was great but I don’t take it as an individual work. I believe my team helped me to get those 3 goals, having a good side on field as well as off field is the key.
