Community Football Club of India and Football School of India confirms berth in Super Six Round

Delfiya, Niketa and Sanaya outshined Decan XI as Community Football Club of India marched to a commendable victory in their 5th match of the IWL-Preliminary Round.

Community Football Club of India had a great outing against Decan XI from the very first whistle of the game. The outfit took a commendable 4 goal lead within the first half. Niketa Rathod netted the first goal of the match at the 24th minute. Captain Delfiya Trevor Pereira joined the scoresheet as she increased the lead at the 31st minute. Both Niketa and Delfiya completed their brace at the 37th and the 40th minute respectively, contributing their part on leading the team to a laudable victory. In the second half, Sanaya Anklesaria, who was replaced with Aarti Gupta outshined the opponents. Sanaya played an important role from the centre of the field and even contributed in scoring two goals for her team at the 51st and the 88th minute. Decan XI thoroughly succumbed to handle the attacks and failed to disturb the robust Community Football Club defence. The match ended seeing Community Club of India netting half-a-dozen goals past Decan XI. Decan concluded their campaign at the 5th position after gaining 3 points from 5 games. On the other hand, Community Football Club of India looks forward to commencing preparations for the final round. The team is set to lock horns against the best 5 teams in the Super Six round after winning 4 games from playing 5.

On the other encounter, Group-A leaders Football School of India played out an astonishing win against Riva FC. Team FSI had only 9 players. With two players less on the field, Football School of India took the lead just before the half time. Karishma Vazirani broke the deadlock for Football School of India during the added time of the first half. In the final 45 minutes, both teams created fair bit of chances which they failed to convert from. In the final 10 minutes, Bhumika gave Football School of India a decisive lead which seemed enough to clinch the 3 points. However, Riva FC bounced back within a few minutes scoring their first goal of the match to challenge the opponents. It was an end to end affair during dying moments where Lavanya Vaity did the heroics. She put the final nail to the coffin during the extra time which led the toppers to clinch another 3 points.

Riva FC finished 4th in the group standings whereas Football School of India gears up to maintain their substantial form in the Super Six round.
