WCG Rink football: Henderson shines with fine hat-trick
Striker Henderson Dias notched up a hat-trick which inspired Our Lady of Salvation, Dadar to charge to a 5-0 win against Good Shepherd ‘B’, Andheri in a Men’s second round match of the Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana organized 31st Inter-Parish 5-a-side Rink Football Tournament – 2018 for the Victor D’Mello Trophy and played under floodlights at the gymkhana’s tennis courts.
Experienced forward Linekar Machado and Troy D’Souza scored a goal each to round off the margin of victory for the Dadar outfit.
In another match, Holy Family ‘C’, Andheri scored a hard-fought 1-0 win against St. Anthony’s ‘C’, Vakola in a keenly contested second round encounter. Derek Fernandes scored the decisive winner to seal Holy Family’s passage to the third round.
Results – second round: Our Lady of Salvation ‘B’, Dadar 5 (Henderson Dias 3, Linekar Machado 1, Troy D’Souza 1) beat Good Shepherd ‘B’, Andheri 0.
Our Lady of Health ‘A’, Sahar 5 (Ronaldo Braganza 2, Grenville Lewis 1, Jackrus Devdas 1, Anil Shroff 1) beat Holy Cross ‘D’, Juhu 0.
Holy Family ‘C’, Andheri 1 (Derek Fernandes 1) beat St. Anthony’s ‘C’, Vakola 0.
