UBI to face Central Railway in Elite Division fixture opener

Mumbai, MDFA – Mumbai District Football Association has announced the fixtures of the upcoming Elite Division, the top-flight of Mumbai football. Union Bank of India (UBI) will be playing Central Railway in the Elite Division fixture opener of the season at Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri.

ONGC – Oil & Natural Gas Corporation is the defending champions who had an outstanding campaign last time around. They will be keeping a close tab on their arch-rivals Air India.

This time though, there is a bit change in the format of the competition. There will be two separate groups – Corporate and Private.

This change in format has brought balance among all the participating teams which is a great move. It will be quite interesting to see how both the sets of groups fair against each other in the next rounds.

Nonetheless, the upcoming season of Elite Division will surely go down in the history books of Mumbai football with its unique move.
