WCG Rink Football: St. Blaise advance into semi-finals

St. Blaise ‘A’, Amboli advanced to the semi-final by virtue of their narrow 3-2 win against Our Lady of Salvation ‘B’, Dadar in a Men’s Open quarter-final match of the of the Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana organized 31st Inter-Parish 5-a-side Rink Football Tournament – 2018 for the Victor D’Mello Trophy and played under floodlights at the gymkhana’s tennis courts.

The Amboli side combined well as a team and scored through Jason Miranda, Kirsten Gonsalves and Danzel  Fernandes to seal their win.

Meanwhile, Immaculate Conception, Borivali entered the final of the Ladies Open event, after they defeated Bandra Packers Blue by a narrow 1-0 margin with striker Angeline Anthony netting the lone winning goal.

Results – Open Ladies (semi-finals):  I.C. United, Borivali 1 (Angeline Anthony 1) beat Bandra Packers Blue 0.

Open Veterans (quarter-finals): Spartans Red  2 (Chetan Solanki 2, Ralson M.) beat Holy Cross, Vakola 0.

Men Open (quarter-finals): Immaculate Conception ‘B’, Borivali  5 (Calvin Pereira  3, Oneil D’Souza 2) beat Holy Family ‘A’, Andheri 2 (Mathias  Coutinho 1, Winston D’Silva 1).

St. Blaise ‘A’, Amboli 3 (Jason Miranda 1, Kirsten Gonsalves 1, Danzel  Fernandes 1) beat Our Lady of Salvation ‘B’, Dadar 2 (Troy D’souza 1, Craig D’Souza 1).
