ESPN The Magazine’s World Fame 100 reveals the popular sports stars.

Real Madrid attacker and Portuguese Skipper Cristiano Ronaldo remains as the most famous sportsperson, according to ESPN The Magazine’s World Fame 100.

Cristiano, who has won 5 Ballon d’Ors, has beaten the likes of Leo Messi and LeBron James, who are at 3rd and 2nd respectively, to retain the first rank.

Neymar Jr is ranked at 4th in the list. Joining PSG has helped Neymar increase his popularity. He was ranked 6th last year.  Elsewhere, Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale is ranked 19.

Surprisingly, Mesut Ozil has made a tremendous progress. The German midfielder has climbed 8 spots and is ranked 22 in the list. He has had an inconsistent season for Arsenal, where everything went wrong. However, he is set to rejuvenate in the FIFA World Cup, where Germany try to defend their title.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who recently moved to LA Galaxy, remains as one of the most famous sportspersons. He is ranked 25 in the list. However, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spotted the limelight for the all the wrong reasons, recently, when he received a red card for slapping the opponent.

Meanwhile, Andres Iniesta, who is set to leave Barcelona, is ranked 28 in this latest list. News’ that he’d leave the Catalan camp has certainly helped him gain the attention.
