PIFA Colaba to play KSA in quest for survival

20th March 2018, Mumbai: Later today, PIFA Colaba will meet KSA (Karnataka Sports Association) in the MDFA Elite Division clash at Cooperage Stadium in hope to keep their Elite Division journey alive. PIFA is currently third from bottom with only one win in seven games.

A win will help them to leapfrog Mumbai Striker and Central Bank of India (CBI) while KSA will be aiming to win their fourth match after a deserving 4-1 win over Century Rayon in their previous game. Before losing out to Mumbai Customs 2-0, PIFA secured a deserving 0-0 draw against Union Bank of India (UBI).

If they manage to display the same grit and determination, KSA will have to be at their very best to breach PIFA’s backline. Sushant Jadhav, Ankush Pradhan, Neel Shah, Sushil Tawde and Shaunak Ghorpade had a superb game that day against UBI but in their next game, Francisco Salin put two past PIFA to secure a comfortable 2-0 win for Customs.

Meanwhile, Nascimento Santiago, Roger Sam, Tarique Ansari, Shabbir’s presence will be key for KSA as their experience might play a crucial role against a young PIFA Colaba side. With the title race being contested amongst Air India and ONGC, the battle for the survival is been fought by four clubs as of now: Kenkre FC, Century Rayon, Mumbai Strikers and PIFA Colaba.

Even dropping a point at this stage will prove fatal for any of these sides which makes today’s match more exciting and crucial for PIFA Colaba. The match is set to kick-off at 03:30 pm, Cooperage.
