As a token of appreciation, FC Barcelona gifted a jersey to the organizers which had Lionel Messi’s autograph and MDFA President – Aaditya Thackeray’s name printed on it.

In a short video on Facebook, the Shiv Sena Youth Icon – Aaditya Thackeray, who is also the president of Mumbai District football Association has urged his followers to be in numbers for the upcoming Barcelona vs Juventus legends game.

Football fans in around the Mumbai city now have been given a glorious chance to watch their favourite club players live in actions. Joining hands with DY Patil Sports Academy and Football Next Foundation – who had earlier played a crucial role in bringing Bayern Munich to India for former Indian Legend Bhaichung Bhutia’s farewell game, MDFA is organising this mega event which is set to be a historic moment for Mumbai Football.

From Champions League winners to World Cup winners, both the squad is filled with some of the biggest names the game has ever seen. In a short video message on Facebook, MDFA president urged fans to be a part of this, stating, “It’s a big day for Mumbai.”

DY Patil had earlier last year played host the U17 World Cup teams and had received a tremendous response from fans and players alike. Thackeray went to add, “We witnessed the U17 world Cup stars and enjoyed the quality produced by some of the best young footballers of the time. Now with Barcelona and Juventus game I don’t have to remind of the quality what they can produce. So come to the stadium and be a part of it.”

The success of this exhibition game will be one of the biggest achievements of MDFA and due credits should be given to President Aaditya Thackeray and other members of association along with Kaushik Moulik – the founder of Football Next Foundation in successfully bringing these clubs to the city for the exhibition game.

The match is priced between Rs 500 and 1,500 and will witness the likes of David Trezeguet, Gianluca Zambrotta, Gudjohnsen etc. in action
